On Sunday, Pat and I took the Metro to D.C. to see the Cherry Blossoms. The trees were in full bloom last Thursday but we had a huge thunderstorm on Friday that knocked a lot of them off. I was a little disappointed but we still had a great time. We walked all the way around the tidal basin, to the Jefferson Memorial and back around to the World War 2 Memorial. It was a little crowded but not as bad as I was expecting.
A few trees were still covered in pink blossoms. I had a great time walking around taking pictures in the pretty spring weather! Sunday was our 1 year Anniversary! I can’t believe how fast the past year went by. To celebrate we had omelets for breakfast and pasta with a mushroom cream sauce for dinner. On our honeymoon in Arizona we bought a bottle of wine at a winery we visited. We had been saving this all year to celebrate our 1st Anniversary. We had also saved wedding cake and had that for dessert. I was really surprised that it still tasted OK after a year in the freezer. Such an awesome day!
